One of electronic music’s leading independent record labels, Monstercat has officially opened the doors to its APAC office in Singapore this week. The opening of the Singapore office has put Monstercat in a great position to succeed in Asia’s electronic music market and compete on a global scale. The label’s suite of services is expanding, as it strives to support promising musicians and establish communities throughout the region.
Monstercat is one of electronic music’s most notable independent record labels. Founded in Canada in 2011, Monstercat has since expanded its global footprint with three offices across Vancouver, Los Angeles, and Singapore. The organization’s mission has remained the same, to support a creative and enthusiastic community of artists and supporters by providing them with tools for self-sustaining themselves.
In just a few years, Monstercat has amassed hundreds of thousands of followers across its APAC social channels, and signed releases with rising producers like Foxela (Singapore), Papa Khan (Indonesia), and Godlands (Australia), as well as headliners like Weird Genius (Indonesia), Hoaprox (Vietnam), and Dexter King (China). As live events begin to return, Monstercat will be lining up stages and tours across Asia’s premier clubs and festivals.
Championing a cadre of world-renowned artists including Marshmello, Kaskade, Whipped Cream, and Slushii, Monstercat celebrated over 4 Billion audio streams in 2021, and exceeds 200 Million global audio streams monthly.Monstercat releases six new tracks every week under its Uncaged, Instinct, and Silk imprints. The music company has seen success globally with its wide range of genres including bass, dance, pop, house, chill, and electronic.
In addition to the music and artists on its roster, Monstercat also has live events, merchandise, gaming partnerships, digital collectibles, and sync deals. Monstercat has hosted stages and events at notable international festivals including Tomorrowland, Amsterdam Dance Event, and Miami Music Week, spanning over 100 events across 16 countries collectively. Monstercat also holds its own homegrown festival, Compound, which draws thousands of fans to Vancouver annually in celebration of community, music, art, and more.
In celebration of the label’s global expansion, Monstercat will host the exclusive All That Matters Closing Party in partnership with Grand Prix Season Singapore (GPSS). Monstercat x GPSS is set to take over the heart of Clarke Quay on September 28th from 9:00pm to midnight, with performances from premier local talent released on the label including Weird Genius, Hoaprox, Foxela, and more.
Additionally, the label will host the panel “Electronic Music Matters” at All That Matters, featuring regional partners such as Robb Harker of Supermodified, Ayu Ayundita of Ismaya, Stephen Dowler of Monstercat, and the label’s own artist, Hoaprox. Monstercat Co-Founder and CEO, Mike Darlington, will also speak on the panel “All That Music Publishing Matters” at the conference.
